Day 1: Arrival in Ushuaia, Argentina

– Morning: Arrive in Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world.

– Afternoon: Explore the town, visit the End of the World Museum.

– Evening: Enjoy a local meal and rest up for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Embarkation Day

– Morning: Last-minute shopping and exploring.

– Afternoon: Board your expedition ship. Attend safety briefings and meet the crew.

– Evening: Set sail through the Beagle Channel.

Day 3-4: Crossing the Drake Passage

– All Day: Experience the Drake Passage. Attend onboard lectures about wildlife, geology, and history of Antarctica. Keep an eye out for albatrosses and other seabirds.

Day 5: South Shetland Islands

– Morning: Arrive at the South Shetland Islands. First landing at a place like King George Island or Half Moon Island.

– Afternoon: Zodiac cruises and potential landings to see seals, penguins, and other wildlife.

– Evening: Onboard activities and dinner.

Day 6-7: Antarctic Peninsula

– All Day: Explore the Antarctic Peninsula. Potential landing sites include Neko Harbor, Paradise Bay, and Port Lockroy. Activities include:

  – Zodiac cruises.

  – Kayaking.

  – Penguin rookeries and seal colonies.

  – Historic sites and research stations.

Day 8: Antarctic Circle

– All Day: If conditions permit, cross the Antarctic Circle at latitude 66°33′ South. Celebrate this milestone with a special onboard ceremony. Continue exploring the southernmost regions.

Day 9-10: Return Journey via Drake Passage

– All Day: Sail back through the Drake Passage. More onboard lectures, wildlife watching, and reflection on the journey.

Day 11: Disembarkation in Ushuaia

– Morning: Arrive back in Ushuaia. Disembark and transfer to the airport for your onward journey.

– Afternoon: Optional activities in Ushuaia if you have a later flight.

Tips for the Trip

– Packing: Pack plenty of layers, waterproof clothing, sunscreen, and binoculars.
